Maze of Opposite

He spots her walking along the roadway
Remembers a time when he couldn’t convince her to stay
Wonders of what might have been
Mind wanders to that of a place of nostalgic sin
He opens his thoughts as if to speak them loudly
But she waltzes away seeming all too proudly

She caught his glimpse again and smirks
It’s taken this long to find him and now she’s doing what works
To have him back in her fold
Distant of the thoughts not long or cold
Gone from her past, or the blame
She placed on his failures, but hers? She won’t do the same

Two strangers walk opposite ways
Two strangers once caught in the same maze.
