My Fear of Breath – Part 3

Breathe in the breeze and seize the reality
Ask not what became of the past, it didn’t last
Surely you shouldn’t dig around there
Cover that hole and don’t turn back to it

Breathe in the reality of what could be
Let go of what could have been
Let go of what was back then

Exhale the impression of a feeling you exposed
Learn from the flame you built to burn
Watch as it dances upon the house that used to remain
Stare into the ash, suppose once you were there

Breathe in the reality of what could be
Let go of what could have been
Let go of what was back then

Fear the breath of an early, cold morning
A warning you never saw exposed a crack
But you lacked the decency to not go and pick
Stick to the truth, it’s what you use to breathe

Breathe in the reality of what could be
Iron sharpens iron, tears of me
Deep in the ocean I drown with ease.

Breathe in the breath of everything you left
Breathe in the breath of everything you spent
Breathe in the breath of something you knew
Breathe in the breath of what’s through
And then leave
