Knowing No Exit

Smoke clouds the room as well as his mind
He’d hoped that a peace inside is what he would find
It’s just not there.

He sees a broken reflection of what he should have been
Make a partner in the dance of an elegant sin
Not how it shall end

This room seems too small
The air seems to want to fall
Gaze upon him
A crown that’s broken

Wind haunts him with a broken song
Curses float upon that breeze to remind him just how wrong
This man could be

A fall from the serene that knows no ground
Will he be judged upon the changes abound
Will he fail this

This room seems too small
The air seems to want to fall
Gaze upon him
A crown that’s broken

The ship sinks
But he never deserts
He’s the captain
